FAQ

Questions about repatriation from India

Your question is not listed?

Call us or message us on WhatsApp. We also answer at weekends.

Does travel insurance cover repatriation?

Many travel and international health insurance policies cover the cost fully or partly. Check your policy or give us the number. We compile the documents for the insurer.

What does the German Embassy do?

The German mission advises relatives and issues the corpse passport or urn certificate. It does not pay for repatriation or funeral costs.

Does cremation in India make sense?

Often yes: repatriating an urn is usually faster and much cheaper. The burial can still take place in Germany. We advise you on what suits your family.

How long does repatriation from India take?

It depends on the local authorities, the cause of death and flight connections. In case of an unnatural death, police clearance takes longer. After the first call we give you a realistic timeline.

The deceased was an Indian citizen living in Germany. Is that possible too?

Yes. We clarify with the authorities in India and Germany which documents are needed and handle the repatriation.

Does the death have to be registered in Germany?

For many matters in Germany, such as inheritance or pensions, registering the death with the registry office is advisable. We tell you which documents you need.

Is the consultation free?

Yes. Advice and the written quote are free and without obligation.

Are you a funeral home?

We handle repatriations to and from India for funeral homes, with a fixed contact and, if you wish, under your name towards the family.
